On June 27, a full freighter operated by Sinotrans and operated by JD Airlines Boeing 737-800F took off from Xingdong International Airport in Nantong, Jiangsu Province and arrived at Incheon International Airport in South Korea smoothly, marking the official opening of Sinotrans Nantong ⇌ Incheon scheduled cargo route. This is an important step for Sinotrans to help Nantong build an international air cargo hub. Wang Xiaobin, member of the Standing Committee of the Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Jiangsu Province, Zhang Zhiyi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sinotrans, and relevant departments of the Nantong Municipal Government of Jiangsu Province, Nantong Airport, Nantong Border Defense, Nantong Customs, JD Airlines and relevant units of Sinotrans attended the inaugural ceremony.
This route is Nantong’s first cargo route to and from South Korea, and it is also Sinotrans’ first scheduled cargo route in Nantong, which marks that Sinotrans has further improved its air transport channel layout in Nantong and formed a four-in-one logistics service network that complements each other by sea, land, air and rail. The route will maintain normal operation in the future, with one flight each on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Sinotrans will be responsible for organizing cargo collection, covering the Yangtze River Delta region, providing reliable transportation support for customers in the Yangtze River Delta. The first flight will mainly carry general cargo, and later it will collect goods such as cross-border e-commerce, providing reliable support for the development of new cross-border e-commerce formats.
In recent years, the demand for stable import and export of freight by customers such as communications electronics, semiconductors and cross-border e-commerce in the Yangtze River Delta region of my country has increased year by year, and the demand for trade with South Korea is particularly strong, and the aviation logistics industry has developed rapidly. Nantong is located at the intersection of the two major open belts of the Yangtze River and the coast. It is known as the "gateway to the river and the sea" and is an important fulcrum for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
In the past, goods exported from the Yangtze River Delta to South Korea required about 3 days of sea transportation. This scheduled cargo route has opened up the air transport channel between the Yangtze River Delta and South Korea, shortening the transportation time to 2 hours, greatly improving the timeliness of transportation. At the same time, Sinotrans will also rely on the integrated logistics service network of sea, land, air and rail, and further provide safer, more efficient and comprehensive logistics and transportation guarantees for customers in industries such as communications electronics and semiconductors that have high requirements for cargo safety through full-link solutions and professional service capabilities.
In order to accelerate business transformation and upgrading and form new quality productivity, Sinotrans will continue to promote the business development model of "new carrier" in the field of air transportation as a pilot since 2023, providing customers with more stable, convenient and high-quality transportation resources and "one-stop" supply chain solutions. The opening of this route is another implementation measure for Sinotrans to promote the business development model of "new carrier".
